Gauge and needles
21 stitches and 28 rows = 10 cm in stockinette with both yarns held together
Needles: US 2½ - 3.0 mm and US 6 - 4.0 mm

No Frills Sweater Junior is a simple raglan sweater with neckline shaping at the front. The No Frills Sweater Junior is worked from the top down, which makes it easy to try it on the child along the way. If you want to make sure that the rib neck edge keeps it shape over time, you can sew a thin elastic thread along the edge.

Start by knitting a swatch to determine which needle size gives you the correct gauge.

Sizes: 4-5 (5-6) 6-7 (7-8) 8-10 (10-12) 12-14 years

Bust circumference: 70 (71) 74 (78) 81 (85) 90 cm [27½ (28) 29¼ (30¾) 32 (33½) 35½ inches]

Length mid back: 40 (42) 43 (44) 46 (48) 50 cm [15¾ (16½) 17 (17¼) 18 (19) 19¾ inches]

Gauge: 21 sts x 28 rows in stockinette stitch on 4 mm needles = 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4 inches], after blocking

Needles:
Circular needles: 3 mm [US2½] and 4 mm [US6] / 40 and 80 cm [16 and 32 inches]; Double-pointed needles: 3 mm [US2½] and 4 mm [US6] (unless Magic Loop technique is used)

Materials: 150 (150) 150 (150) 150 (150-200) 200-250 g Sunday by Sandnes Garn (50 g = 235 m [257 yds]) or Arwetta by Filcolana (50 g = 210 m [230 yds]) held together with 75 (75) 75 (75) 75 (75-100) 100-125 g Tilia by Filcolana (25 g = 210 m [230 yds]) or Tynn Silk Mohair by Sandnes Garn (25 g = 212 m [232 yds])

My suggested Substitute Yarns: 

Use IAM Hand-dyed baby Suri Alpaca/silk  or (25g = 210 m) or CaMaRose Midnatssol   (25g = 200m) instead of Tynn Silk Mohair by Sandnes Garn. 

Use Hjertegarn Organic TRIO or Lana Gatto VIP or CaMaRose Organic Sommeuld instead of Sunday by Sandnes Garn.
