Cascade

We’re proud to carry Cascade Yarns®, an American brand known for combining exceptional quality with accessible pricing—making creative expression available to everyone.
At Inspire a Mind Yarns, we appreciate Cascade's commitment to sourcing from mulesing-free farms, supporting a more ethical and sustainable fiber industry. We're excited to introduce our first offering from their collection: Cascade 220 (non-superwash)—a beloved classic that's both environmentally conscious and animal-friendly.
The history of Cascade Yarns
Cascade Yarns began in 1987 in Seattle, founded by Bob Dunbabin with a simple belief: makers care most about the feel and quality of their yarn — not fancy offices or expensive branding. By keeping overhead low and prioritizing sourcing, Cascade built its name on premium yarns that don’t break the bank.
Bob looked beyond traditional suppliers and turned to South America, where he partnered with mills to improve quality and sustainability — from the materials used to working conditions for employees. That thoughtful approach continues today with his son Rob and daughter-in-law Shannon, who now lead the family business. They’ve kept the mission alive: offering exceptional yarns while supporting the fiber arts community every step of the way.
