I LOVE Cascade Eco+ and Ecological Wool. These non-superwash Highland wool has a beautifully authentic feel, very similar to Sandnes Garn’s Fritidsuld or Peer Gynt—the classic Norwegian-style wools with the same sturdy, traditional character.

Cascade Eco+ is available in beautifully dyed shades, while the Ecological Wool collection is offered in natural, undyed colors that highlight the fiber in its purest form.

Color: Sparrow (4011)

Spun from 100% Peruvian wool, this Aran- to chunky-weight yarn delivers excellent stitch definition and blocks beautifully. Eco+ is ideal for heirloom-quality garments, cozy outerwear, accessories, and felted projects, making it a favorite for knitters of all ages. Each generous 250-gram skein offers over 475 yards, making it both economical and highly versatile, and it’s available in a beautiful range of solid shades and soft heathers. It also works wonderfully as a substitute for Hjertegarn Natur Uld.

Thanks to the large skein size, most sweater/cardigan projects require only two to three skeins. As an example, I used just two skeins to knit the oversized PetiteKnit Champagne Cardigan (size M), holding it together with a lace-weight baby Suri alpaca for extra softness and nice drape.
