Soft, sturdy, and easy to care for—this 4-ply merino yarn is ready for anything!
Its multi-ply construction helps minimize pilling, while the superwash finish means it’s machine washable—perfect for everyday garments, cozy home projects, and little ones’ knits. Like all our yarns, it’s wonderfully soft and comfortable right against the skin.

Made from premium superwash merino wool, this yarn is available in a gorgeous range of hand-dyed shades—from watercolor-inspired multis to gentle semi-solids and lively variegated tones.

Ideal for: sweaters, shawls, baby and children’s clothing, blankets, accessories, toys, cables, textured stitches, and colorwork.

Because each batch is hand-dyed, color variation is natural. We recommend purchasing enough yarn for your entire project at once. Even skeins from the same dye lot may show slight differences, so for the most even look, alternate between two skeins every few rows.

Our dye process follows the same recipe each time, but every batch develops its own unique personality—sometimes subtle, sometimes striking, especially in the variegated shades. After careful inspection and labeling, skeins are packed in small batches before heading to stores, where they can easily mix on the shelves.

Please note: colors shown are for reference only and may vary slightly due to the hand-dyeing process. Colorways marked with an asterisk (*) are dyed using an industrial process.

SUPERWASH: Handling the Stretch
Superwash yarns can stretch when wet, but fear not! Follow these steps:

1. Opt for a spin in a mesh laundry bag for effective results on all superwash items.

2. After washing, lay the item horizontally to reshape.

Swatch and Block: Similar to non-superwash, anticipate growth with Malabrigo. Swatching and blocking guide size expectations.

Bleeding Yarn?
Detect bleeding issues before crafting:

Test a yarn strand by soaking it with wool wash. Let it soak for at least 30 minutes. Pull it out and lay it on a piece of white paper towel, tissue, toilet paper, etc. You may not see color in the water, but it might show up on the white paper.

If color appears, soak the yarn in lukewarm water with a glug (1/4-1/3 cup) of plain white vinegar. Follow up with rinse baths until the water runs clear.

Already Knit Up? Address bleeding cautiously, especially in two-color projects. Try color-catcher sheets, but be prepared for potential changes.

Remember, catching bleeding problems early is key, ensuring a smooth journey for your Malabrigo creations!

Alternating Skeins?
In the round: Alternate every round for seamless transitions.
Flat, every 2 rows: Slip the first stitch purlwise and knit the next with the carried-up yarn.
