Lumber Sweater | Ravelry PDF

THIS IS A RAVELRY PATTERNDOWNLOAD HERE

Buy CaMaRose Midnatssol

The Lumber Sweater showcases a timeless gingham check pattern, created using the stranded colorwork technique with two contrasting yarn colors. This sweater is knit seamlessly from the top down, entirely in the round. It begins with a structured saddle shoulder, followed by gradual sleeve increases. Once the yoke is complete, the body and sleeves are worked in the round for a smooth, cohesive finish.

Sizes: XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL)

Materials: 2 strands of CaMaRose Midnatssol held together.
(baby alpaca / merino / lyocell). 25 gram = 200 meters 218 yards

150 (150) 175 (175) 200 (200) grams in color A (brown 9548)
125 (125) 150 (150) 175 (175)) grams in color B (blue 9570)

Important (!) about the yarn Midnatssol and light and dark colors: Some of the colors have a black “inner thread” and some have a white “inner thread”. The dark colors with the black inner thread are more fluffy with longer fibers. The brown and blue sweater uses yarn with the black inner thread. The coral and beige sweater uses yarn with the white inner thread. The correct gauge might be achieved with different needle sizes depending on which of these two yarn qualities that are used (thinner needle for the dark colors). The fabric of the sweater will be denser using the dark colours. Be aware that if you choose to mix a color with the black thread and one with the white thread, the structure of the fabric will vary between the 3 different colors of the squares/checks.

Gauge
AFTER washing 18 sts x 25 r = 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4 in in stranded colorwork stockinette stitch on 4 mm / US 6 needles. Remember to do your swatch in stranded colorwork. Preferably where you knit the swatch “in-the-round” only from the right side (RS) and eliminate the wrong side (WS).

If you use the light colors of Midnatssol, you might need to increase needle sizes by ½-1 mm to get the right gauge. Be sure to always make a swatch.

Needle Size: 4 mm / US 6 needles

Size
The sweater should have a positive ease of approximately 20-25 cm, 8-10 in compared to your bust measurement (or widest part of your upper body) creating a loose fit. I.e. you should choose a size where the bust circumference is approximately 20-25 cm 8-10 in larger than your bust measurement.
