SoulMade Tweed I brings together years of knowledge and skilled craftsmanship. The result is an exceptionally soft, energetic single-ply tweed yarn that shows every stitch beautifully.

Gepard Garn's aim was to make the tweed yarn we had been unable to source: an untwisted single strand offering outstanding comfort and a carefully judged relationship between the base shade and its tweed flecks.

Made from 100% mulesing-free merino wool, SoulMade Tweed I is produced in a family-run Italian mill. Sus Gepard drew on her handspinning experience throughout its development, helping shape a yarn with distinctive movement, vitality and character.

Three ideas guide the yarn’s design: care, comfort and colour:

• care for the fibre and its natural qualities from start to finish,
• comfort while the yarn is on the needles and when the finished piece is worn,
• colour through balanced shades that invite playful, creative combinations.
• A gentle spin and supple tweed flecks give the single-ply merino a cashmere-like result: airy, indulgently soft and remarkably light.

The coordinated range spans calm, earthy tones and clear, saturated colours. Sus Gepard personally chose every base-and-fleck pairing, so the shades work together easily and complement companion yarns.

This versatile yarn blooms noticeably after blocking and performs well across many needle sizes. Choose finer needles for a firm, defined textile, or move to larger needles for a more open, weightless drape. Working at a looser gauge creates a softer, more flowing fabric and reduces the amount of yarn required—an economical way to make a luxurious garment.

Before casting on, knit and wash a swatch to determine the gauge and fabric feel that best suit your project.

Soul Made Tweed is spun from pure wool, which stays beautiful with gentle care.

Wash your knit carefully using a detergent made for wool. Soak only briefly, and always rinse out the soap thoroughly.

Use a laundry bag when spin-drying. Reshape the garment after washing and dry flat to preserve its shape, surface and stitch definition as beautifully as possible.
