I am pleased to introduce Cascade Alpaca Lace as a new addition to our shop. Alpaca Lace will serve as a substitute for our much loved Holst Titicaca Alpaca Lace. In response to rising U.S. import taxes (tariffs), we are actively exploring high-quality alternatives from domestic yarn producers. Cascade Alpaca Lace offers an identical feel and composition to Holst’s version, and we’re truly excited to have found such a beautiful and reliable option produced right here in the U.S.
Alpaca Laceis an exceptionally fine and soft yarn, ideal for showcasing everything from simple lace motifs to intricate lacework. With generous yardage, a single skein is often enough to create a lightweight shawl. It also works beautifully as a companion strand in patterns that call for mohair or baby Suri lace—offering the same softness and texture without the added "fluffy" halo.
Fiber: 100% Baby Alpaca (more on Ravelry about Alpaca Lace) Approx. Yardage: 437 yds (400 m). Cascade Alpaca Lace comes in 50g hanks/skeins. If you want us to wind your skeins into cakes/balls send me a message here. Weight: 50 g (1.75 oz)
For those who prefer the original, Holst Garn continues to offer international shipping, making it easy for U.S.-based knitters to order directly from their webshop.
