..............................
Chalcot Cardigan is a relaxed, oversized design worked seamlessly from the top down in Reverse Half Fisherman’s Rib.
The piece begins with the back, knitted flat with increases at both edges. Stitches are then picked up along the back yoke to shape the front panels, including the neckline and underarms. Once the fronts are joined to the back, the body is continued back and forth to the hem.
The sleeves are picked up around the armholes and knitted in the round. All edges feature half-twisted rib, with a neat Italian bind-off for a flexible finish. A double-knit button band is worked along both fronts, while the neckline is completed with twisted rib, folded to the inside and secured for a clean, polished look.

- If you choose to lengthen the cardigan you may require more yarn.
Take care not to overstretch your garment whilst it is wet as this can cause the Reverse Half Fisherman’s rib stitch to grow irreversibly; the growth amount may vary depending on the yarn used. It is recommended to gently steam block this garment.
