Titicaca | 100% Alpaca

With new US import tariffs on goods from the EU and other countries, many American businesses are sourcing similar products made or distributed within the US. Since Holst sells directly to US customers, we are replacing Holst Titicaca with the beautiful Cascade Alpaca Lace. Both are produced in Peru and nearly identical—the main difference is Cascade comes in hanks rather than cakes. I’m happy to wind them for free if you prefer.

Holst Titicaca can be knit alone in 1 or 2 threads for fine soft shawls or light clothing - and even for babies items. It is also a perfect companion thread when knitted together with Holst Supersoft, Holst Coast and Holst Noble. The alpaca will add softness and a light fluffiness to your creative project. 

Titicaca is a thin 2-ply 100% alpaca yarn.

Weight: Lace/Light Fingering.

Approx. 400 meters/437 yards per 50 gram

Knit with one thread at needles 2.5-3 mm/US 2-3 
(Approx. 25 stitches = 10 cm/4 inches).

Knit with two threads at needles 3.5-4 mm/US 4-6
(Approx. 23 stitches = 10 cm/4 inches).

When you use Titicaca 100% alpaca with another yarn, 1 thread will add approx. ½ a size to your knitting needles. 

You can use a washing machine - on a cold delicate wool program.
