Care: For best results, gently handwash your knitwear in cool water (20–25°C) using only a small amount of mild, neutral soap. Reshape and dry flat. We highly recommend placing your garment in a laundry bag during all washing steps to help preserve its shape and extend its life.

While cashmere is a surprisingly resilient fiber and generally resists felting, it can felt if handled too vigorously. Treat your piece with care to keep it luxuriously soft and beautiful for years to come.

Gepard Garn Cashmere Klassik is carefully washed before being balled, a process in which intentionally lose 10–12% of the fiber weight. This washing step opens up the fibers, allowing air to enter the yarn and create its signature volume. Skipping this step would make the yarn cheaper to produce—but far less luxurious. By pre-washing, we ensure you receive a yarn with incomparable loft, softness, and performance, ultimately allowing you to use fewer balls for your project and enjoy a superior finished result.

Cashmere is naturally durable and becomes even softer with every wash. If you’re gifting a hand-knit shawl, we recommend giving it a gentle wash beforehand to enhance its beautiful feel.
