The colorwork chart is knit exclusively from the right side, making this pattern approachable even for knitters with limited experience in stranded knitting techniques.
For those who prefer a simpler construction, the Italian cast-on may be substituted with a standard long-tail cast-on, as long as the stitches are not cast on too tightly. Likewise, a traditional bind-off may be used instead of the Italian bind-off.
