Fiber Characteristics
Fine wool Targhee sheep raised in Montana and South Dakota provide their distinctively dense fleeces for Arbor Lodge. This American breed has all the softness of its Merino forebears, with added structure from longwool genetics. Targhee wool has an especially elastic quality ideal for worsted spinning, knitting up into plush, sturdy fabrics suitable for next-to-skin wear.
Dye Process
Arbor Lodge is spun from undyed white wool, then skein dyed after spinning into a saturated palette of solid hues that let textured stitches and cables shine, create crisp colorwork, and highlight the natural luster of the wool fibers.
